Production Lists in KC Lite

Production Lists in KC Lite help you calculate what ingredients need to be ordered to produce a specific set of recipes or a menu. Rather than being a prep sheet, this tool supports forward planning by showing the total quantities of ingredients required based on your projected output.

How to Access Production Lists

Navigate to:

Ordering > Lists > Production Lists

➕ How to Create a Production List

  1. Click Add New

  2. Name your list clearly (e.g. “Wedding Menu – 30 guests”)

  3. Select the Revenue Outlet

  4. Add your recipes, sub-recipes, or menus

  5. Input the number of portions (e.g. 30) for each item

What the Production List Does

Once you build your list, the system:

  • Calculates the total quantity of each ingredient required across all recipes

  • Rolls up ingredient usage into a single, consolidated list

  • Highlights exactly what you need to order in order to deliver your selected items at the required volume

✅ This is particularly helpful for event catering, buffet service, or any pre-planned production where quantities are fixed and ordering needs to be accurate.

🧠 Best Practices

  • Use Production Lists for large bookings, set menus, or bulk batch planning

  • Always check that recipes and sub-recipes are fully costed and built correctly for accurate results

  • Cross-check the output with stock on hand before placing an order

  • Export or print the list to use as a reference when creating Purchase Orders

❓FAQs

Does this feature place orders automatically?
No — the production list only calculates required ingredients. You will still need to create a Purchase Order manually using the output as a reference.

Can I include full menus, not just individual recipes?
Yes — production lists allow you to add individual recipes, sub-recipes, or compiled menus.

What if I already have some stock on hand?
You’ll need to deduct this manually from the quantities generated before placing your order.
