Production Lists
Production Lists are similar to Market Lists, but instead of adding products directly from your product catalogue, they are built from recipes, sub-recipes, and menus.
This is especially useful for events, set menus, canapé services, or any scenario where quantities are derived from prepared recipes rather than individual products.
You can find Production Lists and Production List Templates by going to:
Ordering > Lists > Production Lists / Production List Templates
Creating a Production List
-
Navigate to the Production Lists tab and click Add New.
-
Enter a name for the list.
-
Assign one or more Revenue Outlets this list will be available for.
-
Add sub-recipes, recipes, or entire menus:
-
Recipes & Sub-Recipes – Enter the required quantity per line.
-
Menus – Set the yield for the menu:
-
If the menu is set to per person, the yield should match the number of guests (e.g. for a 100-person event, set yield to 100).
-
-
-
Once all items have been added, click Create to finalise the list.
Using Production Lists
Once created, Production Lists can be applied to purchase orders:
-
When added to a purchase order, the system will automatically break down all constituent products from the recipes, sub-recipes, or menus into the purchase order lines.
-
You can then edit these purchase orders as required before sending to suppliers.
💡 Best Practices
-
Name lists clearly for quick identification (e.g. Wedding – 24th Sept – 150 Guests).
-
Use templates for regularly repeated events or menus to save time.
-
Double-check yields and quantities before creating the list to ensure accurate product breakdowns.
❓ FAQs
Q: Can I build a Production List directly from products?
A: No — if you want to build a list directly from products, use a Market List instead.
Q: Can I mix menus, recipes, and sub-recipes in one list?
A: Yes — you can add any combination of these.
Q: Can I edit a Production List after it’s been used in a purchase order?
A: You can edit the list itself, but changes won’t automatically update existing purchase orders — these will need to be edited manually.
