This guide explains why you may be unable to edit certain products, recipes or other records in your Kitchen Cut account
If you’re unable to view or edit certain items in Kitchen CUT, the issue is often due to your current location level within the system’s hierarchy. Products, recipes, and data are only visible if they’ve been shared to the level you're working in.
🔍 Understanding Location Visibility
Kitchen CUT operates on a hierarchical structure. Your access is defined by the location or outlet you’re logged into. This structure ensures users only see relevant data for their part of the organisation.
For example:
-
A recipe created at Head Office won’t be visible to an outlet-level user unless it’s explicitly shared to that outlet.
-
Similarly, if you log into one outlet, you won’t see products or data specific to another outlet.
✅ How to Check & Switch Location
To confirm or change your current location:
-
Go to the top navigation bar.
-
Select the current location name.
-
Choose the correct outlet or central level (e.g., Head Office).
Once at the correct level, try locating the item again.
🔁 Sharing Products Across Locations
If you believe an item should be visible but isn’t:
-
Ensure it has been shared to the correct location.
-
If you don’t have permission to manage sharing, contact your system administrator.
🛠️ Best Practice
Always make sure you are working in the correct location context before creating or editing:
-
Recipes
-
Menus
-
Suppliers
-
Stock items
Doing so avoids duplication and ensures items are properly linked across the system.
💬 FAQs
❓ I created a recipe but can’t see it when logged into my outlet?
It may have been created at a different level (e.g., Head Office). Try switching your location to match the level where it was created.
❓ Can I share items across all locations?
Only users with the appropriate permissions (usually Admin or Head Office roles) can share products across locations. You can share to locations you have access to.
❓ Why can some users see items I can’t?
Access is based on both user role and location level. Check with your administrator to confirm your access level.
